Effect of Laser Surgery about Allergic Rhinitis Patients

Abstract
Recently during a 1 year period, we treated 40 allergic rhinitis patients with Nd-Yag laser or CO2 laser. The Nd-Yag laser or CO2 laser was used with the assumption that the allergic reaction could be inhibited by causing scar tissue formation in
the
superficial layer of the submucosa of the inferior turbinate where the allergic reaction is considered to occur.
@ES The results obtained were as follows:
@EN 1. 6-12 months after laser surgery, 78.5% of the allergic rhinitis patients had good results, that is nasal obstruction(92%), rhinorrhea(78.6%), sneezing(50%0 had improved.
2. But 10% of allergic rhinitis patients had improved in multiple allergosorbent test or allergic skin test.
Therefore, laser surgery is an effective method of symptom improvement of allergic rhinitis, but dose not effect a complete cure.
